Jesus Is Alive

Jesus is Alive

Your Faith Is Not In Vain

“And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty.” (1 Corinthians 15:14, NKJV)

Over the years, as with everyone else, I have gone through some of the most difficult times in my life. There has been times when strong doubts crept in and my faith was on shaky ground. I even wondered if Jesus was real. It was in those darkest of times that this verse encouraged me. If Christ did not rise, then yes, my doubts are valid and my faith is useless indeed, BUT Christ rose and Jesus is Alive indeed. That changes everything….and that truth kept me going.

When I shared this with a few of my friends, I realized, I was not the only one who’s come back to this verse in hard seasons. I’ve met many believers who quietly whisper it to themselves when prayers seem unanswered, when ministry feels slow, or when doubts sneak in at night. Paul is blunt here on purpose: If Christ didn’t rise, everything we believe collapses. But because He did rise, nothing you do for Him is wasted. Your faith is not a shot in the dark; it’s standing in the daylight of an empty tomb. Jesus is Alive. Dont just read that quickly. Stop! Stay there for a second. Think about it a bit. Jesus, whom you call Lord, and pray to, that Jesus is ALIVE.

1) The receipt after payment.
When you buy something online, the confirmation email is proof the payment went through. The resurrection is God’s receipt that Jesus’ cross-payment for our sins cleared in full. When doubts say, “Maybe you’re forgiven… maybe not,” you can point to the receipt: He is risen. Transaction approved.

2) The power outlet.
Ever plugged your phone into a dead socket? It looks right, but there’s no power. If Jesus stayed in the grave, faith would be like a charger in a dead outlet—looks fine, no life. But the empty tomb means the power is on. Prayer isn’t talking to the ceiling. You are talking to a living God and He hears everything.

Where this lands in ordinary life

  • When a prayer seems unanswered:
You’ve prayed for healing, a job, or a breakthrough, and it’s quiet. The resurrection says God hasn’t gone silent or changed addresses. Delays don’t mean denial. Jesus walked out of a sealed tomb—He can walk into closed rooms and closed stories.
  • When integrity costs you:
You choose honesty at work and it hurts in the short term. Because Christ is risen, your integrity isn’t foolish; it’s seed. In God’s hands, seed never goes to waste.
  • When ministry feels small:
You pour into one teen, lead one small group, encourage one struggling friend. Because Jesus is alive, the “small” things are not small to Him. Heaven measures fruit differently.
  • When sin feels loud:
Old habits shout, “You’ll never change.” The resurrection answers, “New creation is possible.” The same power that raised Jesus is at work in you.

A short, honest pathway for doubtful days

  1. Return to the tomb.
Read John 20 or Luke 24. Picture the stone rolled away. Say out loud: “Jesus is alive; therefore my faith is not in vain.”
  2. Carry the receipt.
Write on a card or your phone lock screen: Paid in full—He is risen (1 Cor 15:14). When fear starts talking, when doubts creep in, have a look at your phone lock screen.
  3. Do one small act of resurrection.
Send a note, pray with someone, confess a hidden sin, or choose truth over comfort. Move one step because He lives. I love that song, “Because He lives, I can face tomorrow”.
  4. Anchor your week in hope.
End your day with this promise from the same chapter: “Your labor is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Cor 15:58). Let verse 14 fuel verse 58.

A simple prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You that You are alive.
When doubts speak, let Your resurrection speak louder.
When I grow weary, remind me my faith is not in vain.
Fill me with Your Spirit today—new courage, steady hope, and quiet obedience. Amen.

Reflect & act

  • Where have you recently thought, “Maybe this isn’t worth it”? Bring that specific thing to the risen Christ.
  • What’s one “receipt reminder” you can place where you’ll see it daily?
  • Who can you encourage today with one sentence of resurrection hope?

Because Christ is risen, your faith isn’t empty, your prayers aren’t wasted, your obedience isn’t pointless, and your future isn’t fragile. Keep going. The stone is still rolled away.
